Advent will be here before we know it! With
that comes the Cemetery Committee's laying of the wreaths for the season and
Christmas, to honor (and memorialize) those
parishioners and their family members who are interred or inurned at both of
Holy Trinity's historic cemeteries...on the Church property and at the
Bowie Family Cemetery on Fairview Vista Drive. This
wreaths ministry is the special project of Sherrill Bower who has made it her
mission to see that all of Holy Trinity Cemeteries' graves are decorated for the
holiday season. The Committee removes the
wreaths (weather permitting) just before Epiphany (January
6). Volunteers and Cemetery Committee members will perform a wreath evaluation on Friday, October 10, at 10 AM. The Cemetery Committee invites you to help with this process. If you are interested, please just show up to help, dressed according to weather conditions. Because HTEDS has no school that day (only parent-teacher conferences), plan to meet in the parking lot, near both the far wood shed and HTEDS' outside enclosed physical education area to separate wreaths, based upon the need to rebow or replace and then rebag them. Volunteers and Cemetery Committee members will perform final preparations on Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving, at 10 AM, including separating wreaths by size on the lawn near the cedar tree and rebowing as necessary. The Cemetery Committee invites parishioners to participate in this process as well. The Cemetery Committee invites parishioners to participate in laying the wreaths on Saturday, November 29, at 10 AM. If you are interested, pelase just show up to help, dressed according to weather conditions. The laying of the wreaths will occur even if the weather is inclement. Following the laying of the wreaths, the Cemetery Committee invites participants to partake of refreshments in the Parish Hall.
